The First in Our Generation Foundation Inc. began as a College Advisory Board, dedicated to allowing scholars attending HBCUs to share their marketing skills as a way to enhance a consumer package goods brand. Recognizing the need for a more comprehensive impact, the advisory board evolved into a fully-fledged nonprofit organization. Today, The First in Our Generation Foundation Inc. provides a wide array of resources, career and professional development, mentorship programs, and workshops tailored to the unique experiences of aspiring and current HBCU students. As the Founder and Managing Director, Javari Carlton has remained committed to ensuring the organization's mission of empowering students and creating pathways to success.

The First in our Generation Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to ensuring current and aspiring HBCU students have the tools and guidance necessary to excel academically, thrive in their careers, and become leaders in their communities. Through programming, corporate partnerships, and communal support we strive to ensure that every current and aspiring HBCU student can pursue their dream of obtaining higher education, regardless of heritage and/or lack thereof.
